DIGITAL  EXPLORERS

We teach young people how to communicate using digital media and art

Child-led Workshops

In Yorkshire. In the North. In the Cloud.

'This is the best day I have ever had in my life"

What we do

We give children confidence. We give them skills and a voice.

We teach young people with issues ranging from poverty to Autism, malnutrition to ADHD, helping each one communicate in their own way. Many of these children do not respond well to conventional education, so we teach through play: an efficient form of learning, honed through decades of experience.

We promote respect, of each other and our environment. We create a warm, welcoming and accessible space, then establish the ground rules for health, safety and wellbeing. All our workshops are private, so nothing is shared online, without prior consent. Our digital tools are free at point-of-entry, so can be accessed by any low-income household. We use scrap materials, then recycle them into art. We work in areas that are often ignored.

Our teaching style is to provide a safe place, to intrigue and delight, then each child leads their own learning, supported by informed and experienced practitioners.
Children leave our workshops with a sense of pride and a whole new skillset. Crucially, they take away tools that can help them play a positive part in society, giving marginalised groups a renewed sense of worth. We often work together to film the workshop ‘from within’, to inspire others and create our legacy live.

For the past 3 years, we have hosted digital workshops for Wakefield Council’s Summer S’cool and Aspire’s Kidz Club in Pontefract. We work in a wide range of venues, from woods to sports centres, youth clubs to schools, community fairs to Production Park (where global pop stars practice their stadium tours).
